Have you seen Kate's blog Needle & Spatula?
I'm playing along with her again this month . . .
so welcome to my kitchen!
For this month's dinner party, I decided to highlight a few projects that I've made for our kitchen eating nook. I made napkins and simple pillow covers several months ago, and just finished up this lattice quilted pillow cover this week.I'm so in love with this fabric -- it's Michael Miller's pod posey from a few years ago.
We painted the walls in the eating nook yellow, and blue in the main part of the kitchen. It's really bright against the white cabinets!
I made double sided napkins -- stitched wrong sides together, then turned inside out, and finished the edge with a zig zag stitch. Simple!
Tallulah loves this warm, sunny spot.
This yellow basket usually holds school projects and homework,
but in the summer months there is plenty of room for a cat!
What a clever idea to have a basket in your kitchen for school projects and homework; and even more clever to make it large enough to hold the cat!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful kitty! She looks just charming in the basket! That pillow is lovely, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun kitchen tour! I love how your cushions and pillow coordinate and how great that you have matching napkins now too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in the dinner party again this month :)
Oh my goodness - I love your nook! Its so adorable! Talk about making a house a home with all that lovely fabric goodness.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I hope Tallulah enjoys her summer in the basket - it's so happiness-inducing when the normal homework/school shoes receptacles can be cast aside, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteYour pillow cover looks fantastic! And I like the napkins. They're too fancy for my house, but maybe I should make some for my sister... :)
ReplyDeleteLove the little nook. I can imagine sitting there in the mornings enjoying my tea! Great napkins as well!
ReplyDeleteHey, Michelle! Did you get my email about do. Good Stitches for Aug?
