Starflower Quilt
I am completely in love with this quilt.
It's going to be so hard to take this one to the post office!
This quilt uses Jennifer's starflower block tutorial --
my choice for my month as the quilter for the Peace Circle of do. Good Stitches.
This quilt will be donated to My Very Own Blanket.

It was so much fun to have these blocks arriving in the mail every few days!
It was tricky to get the points to line up well --
each quilter had very slightly differently sized blocks --
but in the end I think it's quite a stunning quilt.
I debated adding sashing in between the stars --
but decided that I liked the intense, bright colors right next to each other better.
All of the yellows and oranges make me think of fall,
and I used a yellow binding to keep it cheerful and light!

For the binding, I used Rachel's ZigZag binding tutorial.
I have never been a fan of machine stitched binding -- until now!
I absolutely love this, Rachel!

Christmas Mini Quilt
This little quilt measures 16 X 20.
The fabrics are from the "Be Merry" collection by Riley Blake.
I hand quilted/embroidered this with #8 perle cotton.
Love this little snow man!
I paper pieced the truck--pattern found here.
If you use this pattern, read the instructions carefully --you'll need to add a seam allowance to each piece -- I found this out the hard way! :-(

Works in Progress, 11.9.11
Finished this week:
My Starflower Quilt
This was a quilt that I designed (using Jennifer's starflower block tutorial) for my month as the quilter of my do. Good Stitches Peace Circle. My daughters LOVED having blocks arrive in the mail all month long - how fun!
I just got the binding sewn on and took a bunch of photos --
I'll do a full post on this in a few days!
In Progress:
I'm (sort of) keeping up with the Leila's
Skill Builder Sampler. These are blocks 13 & 15.
This is going to be a Christmas tree skirt -
I'm following the Christmas Tree Pants tutorial
on Sew Mama Sew.
Just need to quilt it, then cut the center out,
and figure out what to use for binding (red? white? green?)
Next up, stockings!
Happy Wednesday!

Fall Knitting Projects
Pointy Elf Hat (s)
from
by Joelle Hoverson
I love this book. So many cute projects!
The elf hat is in the "can be knit in under 2 hours" chapter,
but it took me longer, maybe 3-4 hours.
Still totally worth it, though!
Now the girls are thinking they might like tassles for the top.
I've had one request for jingle bells, and another for a red and white pom pom!
This week I also finished up the
"just enough ruffles scarf" by Laura Chau.
This is a fabulous, fun, and easy pattern!
It looks like a shawl on a 6 year old,
but on an adult it is much more scarf-like!
When I asked for a model for the finished scarf,
Lexi went all out -- sunglasses and superstar poses!
