Baby "love" quilt, finished last week!
Working on my For the Love of Solids Swap . . .
this is one idea in progress . . .
a Swoon made of solids.
(no progress on my other swoon blocks -- I have 3 done, 6 to go)
Such a fun block,
but oh no,
on one of these I sewed the triangles in the opposite direction.
Do I really want to rip it out and re-do it?
No.
I might wait until I have the rest done,
then see how out of place it looks.
Or should I alternate directions with each row?
I also jumped in on Faith's Solstice Stars Quilt Along.
I absolutely love the blocks that she has chosen,
especially the paper pieced ones!
This is way too many things to have in progress.
I need to finish something, soon!
Today my daughters' school ice skating party has been canceled,
so I'll have more time to sew.
We've had such warm weather here in Minnesota,
the ice rink at their school has melted!

You are a busy woman, Michelle! The blocks look great! My favorite is the purple swoon block. I think your idea of swoon in all solids is great one. I haven't seen that done. All these swoon blocks I'm seeing around blog land are making me think I need to start swooning.
ReplyDeleteThe sparkle blocks look great. And I would not have even noticed that the triangles were facing the opposite direction. Alternating rows might be a fun idea though, as long as you have your layout pre-determined.

I wouldn't have noticed the [alleged] mistake in the Sparkle blocks and I most certainly wouldn't pick out the seams if it were me. I LOVE what you're up to for your FTLOS project!

ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful. For the sparkle punch, I would alternate rows or just put in a few going in the 'wrong' direction for interest. That's how much I hate seam ripping. :)

ReplyDeleteI love solids. I have two quilts on the go made from solids. I would leave your sparkle block as a rogue block. I tend to work with my mistakes when possible.
ReplyDeleteOh my Solids AND Swoon?? Too good to be true!! I say just make one more sparkle block each way instead of seam ripping, I think it looks cool!

ReplyDeleteOoh, I love the solid Swoon with the gray background. So pretty! As for the Sparkle quilt, I would make alternating blocks with the triangles pointing different ways, but I'm really OCD about stuff like that.
