Easy Double Hourglass Quilt

I'm using Allison's tutorial for her easy double hourglass quilt (find it at cluckclucksew.com).  And it really is easy.  The blocks are quick to make, and fun to piece -- they come together quickly.  Now I just need to decide on a layout.
I had some helpers this afternoon, and of course Holly and Lexi each had their own ideas about how to lay out the quilt squares.
They're dressed alike because it was "twins" day at school.  They wore the same dresses, fleece pants, AND their Minnesota Twins baseball hats.  It was cute.

Layout 1
Red-Print-Green (repeat)
Layout 2
Red-Print-Red-Green-Red-Print-Red-Green (etc.)

I think I like layout 1 better, but what do you think?
(I didn't lay out all the quilt blocks yet, just a few rows to get an idea of how the different layouts would look.  And this space on the floor wasn't quite big enough!)

  7. Really pretty! I like layout one better because the print is better distributed throughout the quilt top. Either one would be awesome though!
