(Cross stitch sampler by Little Miss Shabby -- loving this!!!)
(a zip pouch and a paper pieced pillow)
I have also been trying to finish up some larger quilts. I've had stacks of blocks sitting around for far too long! Next week I'm going to spend two days with my sister-in-law's mom and her long-arm machine. I have never tried a long-arm, and have no idea what to expect, but I can't wait!

Any thoughts on how to quilt this one?
I've been thinking about it constantly, and just can't decide!

Hopefully by this time next week,
I'll be sewing binding on some finished quilts!
Linking up to WIP Wed at Freshly Pieced.
I am sure you will have a great time on the long arm quilter and will be given some advice of what to quilt. How lucky are you
ReplyDeletelove those scrappy sticks and your x-stitch as well!
ReplyDeleteI love your Road to TN quilt, especially the focus block that is different. For quilting, I would do something swirly all over, except the focus block, which I would do a dense straight line or back and forth line in the white, and something to emphasize the X on the color portion. Just a thought. I've used my friend's computerized Gammill, to quilt several of my larger quilts. It's a blast, but it takes a lot longer than I ever imagined. Enjoy the process!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! On your road to TN, how about 'just' a diagonal straight-line? or do an 'x' through the center and then echo out in each quadrant...neither too unusual, but would look nice... just my thoughts... ;-)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great and I love your cross stitch! No idea how to quilt it!!! Sorry not much help....
ReplyDeleteAdorable sewing going on! The TN blocks are gorgeous in all those joyous colors! Enjoy the LA:)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time on the long arm! The actual quilting is my weakest point, so no good advice here...
ReplyDeleteI love those scrappy sticks!
ReplyDeleteI love those two brown and red blocks. Are you hand-piecing as you go?
ReplyDeleteI love everything you have going on right now! So much awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThe scrappy sticks are very effective.
ReplyDeleteI would quilt it by staying true to the colors - quilt tight lines all over it - white on white and the other solids to match. The color is what makes this quilt, so the thread and quilting should blend in the pattern and color - not stand out. At least that's my two cents. Nice job.
