My Favorite Quilt

I'm linking up with SewMamaSew's "my Favorite Quilt" post today -- such a fun series and link-up party, too!
Tell us about your favorite quilt. When did you make it? What pattern did you use? What fabrics?
My favorite quilt is definitely my Farmer's Wife Quilt, which I finished in late 2011.  The background is Kona Snow, and the fabrics are Sugar Pop by Liz Scott for Moda.  I started with 1 layer cake and a couple of 1/2 yards, but had to order more when I was about halfway finished -- another layer cake for variety, and another couple of 1/4 yards of my favorite prints.  This quilt is made of of 90 blocks, to celebrate my Grandma's 90th birthday.

Have you shown it at any quilt shows or entered it in any contests?
No.  I finished it just in time to give it to my grandmother for her 90th birthday -- so I missed the deadline on the Minnesota Quilt Show and State Fair.
What memories or people does the quilt make you think of?
(Quilt Back)
My Grandmother, of course!  But my mom, aunt, and uncle helped me with the paper piecing of these blocks -- you can read more about the process in the original post
What do you like best about the quilt? How did you grow as a quilter while making it?
I love everything about this quilt!  There are some blocks that were so tricky, but I just love how they turned out.  I certainly got a lot of practice paper-piecing while making this quilt -- so now I feel like a paper-piecing pro!  This was the first queen sized quilt that I free motion quilted myself.  I used a fairly small meandering pattern throughout the solid fabric.  I love how it made the individual blocks pop!
If you could make this quilt again, what (if anything) would you do differently?
I don't think I'd change a thing -- I love it just the way it is.
Where is the quilt now?
The quilt is in my Grandparent's condo, in their guest bedroom -- it's a beautiful space!
