Scrappy Sticks

Hooray, it's time for another Blogger's Quilt Festival!

My first entry this time around is a quilt I'm calling "Scrappy Sticks."  I made up a tutorial for this quilt block for my do.Good Stitches group a while ago, in an effort to use up small scraps.  My plan was that the center strips in each block would line up, but the side strips would be a little wonky.  I think it worked!  And I'm so happy that it's (finally) finished!

Quilt Stats
Fabrics: lots of scraps, in one inch wide strips
Background: various shades of solid gray
Quilting: straight lines in pairs on either side of the block seams, with free-motion quilted pebbles between the scrappy strings
Size: 44 X 55 inches
Binding: a yellow print from my stash
Backing: an Ikea white text print

Thanks so much for visiting!
I hope you enjoy the Blogger's Quilt Festival!

  1. What a great quilt! Reminds me of pick-up-sticks game we used to play for hours when I was a kid. Can't wait to try one like it.

  2. Oh yes - I love this quilt! Those bright, scrappy sticks on grey make me smile.

  3. Clever use of scraps! This looks great.

  4. Lovely great use for scraps. Must try this.
