sneak peak at the quilting on Lexi's tree quilt, so far the grass and sky need something - wavy lines/straight lines? |

binding is on, ready to go! |
My only problem was this:
Has anyone had this problem with their sliding mat for FMQ? It doesn't seem to be sticky on the underneath side anymore, and I quilted right into it (and wasn't able to easily rip the stitches out)! Huge bummer! This was part of the reason I decided to quilt my Supernova with straight lines.
Also finished up this:
for the Pretty Little Pouch Swap -- finally! My partner is probably wondering where her pouch is, with all the finished pouches posted to flickr lately. It's coming, I promise! I used Noodlehead's gathered clutch tutorial, but pieced the middle section to coordinate with the lining. I used linen for the outside, and love the way it wrinkled/gathered!

Your supernova is looking lovely and love your quilting on the tree quilt!! Plus your pouch is just beautiful :-)
ReplyDeleteYour SuperNova quilt came out great. I know it wasn't your first choice, but I really like the straight line quilting. Also, the pebble quilting on the tree quilt is so nice. Great job! You've been busy!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty little pouch. I have some extra linen to use up. I think you might have inspired me to make my own pouch!
ReplyDeleteFMQ sliding mat? Suddenly feeling dense...what is that? I love the different quilting you've been doing, especially the pebbles, they look fantastic! Happy Wip Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteLove your supernova! It's beautiful. I have no idea what a FMQ mat is so I can't help you there. Love that quilting on the tree quilt. Definitely some straight and wavy lines to break it up.
ReplyDeleteThe slidy mat, just hold it under the tap and rub off the lint, etc. and let it dry on the counter. It will be like new again. I wash mine off every time I use it, I don't use soap, not sure if it would leave a residue.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilting you are doing on the tree quilt and the pouch is wonderful! I am looking forward to seeing the supernova done!
Oh my you've been a busy girl! Love your supernova, the quilting looks amazing...I dont have one of those slidey mats, so unfortunately I don't have any tips :( Love love love that pouch! Gathered clutch AND patchwork, just perfect :)
ReplyDeleteLove the quilting you are doing! Your supernova looks great!
ReplyDeleteSupernova is beautiful! Pretty little pouch too! I also need to mail mine.....
ReplyDeleteLove the way you quilted your Supernova. It looks great! The pouch is awfully cute too.
ReplyDeleteFunny how we plan our TV watching around quilt binding. I do the same thing. :)

love the supernova! the grass in your tree quilt would look nice with wavy lines, and maybe some swirls in the sky, just an idea.
ReplyDeleteSuch nice quilts! And I just had to smile because I like to watch "Glee" as well while quilting...
ReplyDeleteThank god Elizabeth asked what an FMQ sliding mat was, because I had no idea either! I just finished my first FMQ'ed quilt, and I suddenly wondered if I did it without a crucial piece of equipment! What is that and what is it used for?
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, your Supernova looks amazing. Thanks for quilting along with me. Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday, and happy Mother's Day. : )
