(Pattern/tutorial by Rachel at Stitched in Color,
courtesy of her Curves Class.)

Here is how I marked the quilt, to echo the scallops.
This was extremely time consuming,
but well worth it!

(one minor episode of frustration here!)
 I just love it!
(Thanks so much to everyone who
encouraged me to "echo the scallops"!!!)
 Flannel houses quilt back,
the fabric is by Erin McMorris for FreeSpirit.
Close of up the binding . . .
I wanted the binding to blend right into the quilt,
so I pieced the polka dots & orange binding together where the scallops meet.
(The last time I tried this was on this quilt.)

  1. I love everything about this quilt! I really do.

  2. What a burst of color on a snowy grey day! I think echo quilting was a great choice. The backing is perfect. Yes, very nice! You are mastering curves!

  3. You did a stunning job! I love the tangerine color and the echo quilting. And I LOVE the pic in the snow.

  4. Wow! This is just amazing! Love how you quilted it, and love how you blended the binding into the main fabric, just lovely!

  5. Love it! I didn't realize how big it was in your last post. It's just great.

  6. Ooh, it looks fab (although that orange thread pile pic looks a bit scary!)

  7. It turned out so nice. I am totally impressed with how you perfectly matched the binding to blend in. Never seen that done before. Did you have to piece it as you went to ensure matching?

  8. I love the binding! Great quilt. :)

  9. What a fun quilt - love the matchy binding - isn't that JUST the right finish now & then?!

  10. Wow! That looks fantastic! LoVe it!!!

  11. Impressive! The scallops are great. LOVE the houses on the back, too! Great finish!

  12. The scallops are awesome, and the attention to detail on the binding is great! Good luck!

  13. A very effective quilt indeed.

BTW, In case you’re wondering, I am finally back in the 21st century with my new ISP and am catching up on all your posts since 1 March.
